I know that sounds like common sense, but I just saw a woman’s wallet get stolen right out of her cart at Whole Foods. Her wallet was right by her, in the child seat part of the cart. As she turned to put something in her cart for just a second, a man walked by and stole it without her even noticing.

So even when you think you know where your wallet or purse is, or that it’s safe, it’s not if you leave it in your cart.
